My contacts in D.C. called to give me a heads up that VP Joe Biden will be making a big announcement today during his visit to Theodore, Ala. I suspect that the White House will be taking a bigger role in the oil recovery process and will have more officials on the ground in Gulf Coast communities, possibly using the regional offices that Crist has already set up along the Panhandle. BP may not longer be in charge of the clean-up effort.
We will learn more before the day is out.
