Buzz: BP asks City Council to clean boom in bayou


The buzz is BP officials will appear before the Pensacola City Council today at its Committee of the Whole to tell city officials the oil giant’s plans to use Pensacola Shipyard in Bayou Chico as the staging area to clean the oil-soaked boom from the Gulf of Mexico.

Bayou Chico has long been an industrial bayou with several environmental issues. Significant progress has been made over the past several years.
