We hear that the administration at Warrington Middle School is under investigation. According to our sources, staff has been instructed by Superintendent Malcolm Thomas not to communicate with the media or send out any emails or written memos on the problems.
Warrington Middle School has been a key initiative for Superintendent Thomas. Even though the school had moved up from a D school to C school under former principal Christine Nixon, Thomas fired Nixon, transferring her to another school. Nearly all the teachers were replaced. Thomas brought in Sandra Rush as principal and promised the school would be an A school within two years.
Instead, it looks like the school will be revert to a D school and possibly sink to a F rating. Parents aren’t happy and we’ve had several complaints over school safety. There is a rumor about an sexual incident on a school bus, but we haven’t been able to run the details down.
We aren’t sure what the investigation is over, but will follow up with more by tomorrow. It is worrisome that Thomas has adopted a no paper trail policy, which makes public records requests ineffective.
