Celebrity Chef Emeril Lagasse showcases Jackson’s and Viva Florida 500 as part of ‘Emeril’s Florida’ TV series

Press Release: The Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA) is proud to present this week’s episode of Emeril’s Florida. On Thursday’s show, celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse celebrates the 500th anniversary of the Spanish explorer’s arrival on the east coast of Florida.

“Florida is a vibrant state with an array of cultural experiences that have fused together over the past 500 years to make our state truly unique,” said Carol Dover, President and CEO of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association. “Chef Emeril is able to take a televised tour that gives viewers a glimpse of the state’s exceptional restaurants, fascinating history, and unique destinations that we hope inspires viewers to take a trip for themselves.”

In this week’s episode, Chef Michael Lugo of “The Tasting Room” prepares Emeril a classic Spanish meal. Emeril then travels to Pensacola, where executive chef Irv Miller of “Jackson’s Steakhouse” prepares him a variety of dishes. Afterwards, in Tampa, he makes paella with Andrea Gonzmart of the “Columbia Restaurant.” Finally, Emeril visits the Kennedy Space Station, and learns about the NASA Space Program from Colonel Rick Searfoss. The show airs Thursday, July 18th, at 9:30 a.m. EST on the Food Network. Please check local listings.

Emeril’s Florida is a 13 episode series highlighting the Sunshine State through the eyes of Emeril on-location with a focus on food, cooking, events and activities around the state. Throughout the series, Emeril will be visiting Florida’s top restaurants and resorts. He will also prepare some of his favorite recipes which often will feature some of the best seafood Florida has to offer.
