Chamber Hires Vice President of Marketing and Communications

Pensacola, Fla. – August 7, 2012 – Greater Pensacola Chamber President Jim Hizer announced today that Shannon Steffee has been hired as Vice President, Marketing and Communications for the Chamber. Steffee has worked as an editor for a business trade magazine in Altamonte Springs, Fla., for four years, and has more than 12 years’ experience in public relations, communications, and marketing with city government, global member organizations, and non-profits. Steffee will begin her role with the Chamber the first week in September.

“Shannon’s broad communications experience, particularly her work as an editor and writer, will be a real asset to the Chamber,” said Hizer. “Her positive attitude, professionalism, and readiness to hit the ground running make me confident in her ability to take on the myriad responsibilities this job entails. I look forward to having her on our team.”

As VP of Marketing and Communications, Steffee will help create and manage a comprehensive marketing and communications plan for the Chamber, and oversee internal and external communications, media relations, social media, and website development. Her responsibilities willinclude advancing the Chamber’s mission through researching and writing content for all Chamber communications, and promoting Chamber programs and activities through collaboration with other Chamber departments. Steffee holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Communication from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
