City Administrator cleared of Sunshine allegation

The State Attorney’s Office has issued a letter clearing City Administrator Bill Reynolds of Sunshine Law violations raised by Pensacola City Councilwoman Maren DeWeese in regards to a series of emails between DeWeese, Reynolds and Parks & Rec subcommittee chair Jake Renfroe. DeWeese had expressed concern that Reynolds was acting as a conduit between Renfroe and fellow committee member David Forte.

The SAO ruled that the emails were one-way communications and didn’t involve an exchange of information or ideas. Therefore, no violation of Florida Sunshine Law occurred.
