City Budget Workshop

The city budget workshops begin this morning at 9 a.m. and will run throughout the day. First up will Mayor’s Chief of Staff John Asmar to explain the budget overview. This will probably be the part of the meeting where the council discusses the mayor’s reorganization of city staff and his creation of a cabinet that will consist of Chief Administrative Officer Bill Reynolds, Asmar and the proposed Chief of Economic Opportunities & Sustainability and Chief of Neighborhoods.

Department heads who going before the city council today: Director of Finance, Human Resources, ESP Director, Sanitation & Fleet Services, Library, Housing, Planning & Inspection, Airport and Port.

There are fee and rate increases associated with ESP and Sanitation so those discussions could be lively, too.

The agenda states the workshop will end at 5:15 p.m.
