City Mailers Unopened?

A city resident sent the City of Pensacola’s mailer on curbside recycling. The outside of the mailer does not make any reference to curbside recycling. Most city residents would see it as another routine mailer.

The postage side proclaims: “The 2025 City of Pensacola Sanitation Services holiday schedule has arrived!” The bottom half, below the fold on the outside, has the Mayor’s Neighborhood Cleanup schedule through Sept. 27.  The words “Curbside Recycling” don’t appear:

On the inside, those city residents that opened the mailer would find “Recycling News,” which included the starting period (week of July 14), three ways to sign up,  and the holiday collection schedule. Below the schedule, the city stated the new garbage collection day but no mention of only one garbage collection day. No mention of the cost for recycling or keeping a second garbage collection day.

However, customers received this inspiring, “Instagram-worthy ” phrase: “Set the example for future generations by joining in our transformational push!”

The new collection day should have been on the outside – above and below the fold, and several times on the inside – at least, as many times as the yard waste collection day not changing and being the same as recycling day.
