City of Pensacola PIO Vernon Stewart would not provide Inweekly reporter Duwayne Escobedo the most recent soil test results. He told the reporter that the newspaper would have to submit the request to the City’s Sunshine Center.
As far as how the City of Pensacola’s 311 service handled the Sunday calls from Dr. Glorida Horning about the dump trucks in her neighborhood. Stewart took a different position in a text to Escobedo.
The PIO wrote, “It is not our position to go back and forth, but after reviewing our records we did find that she placed a call and did speak to someone from our City 311.”
He continued, “The initial report said ‘Horning said she called the City of Pensacola 3-1-1 service to report the incident and heard nothing back from city officials.’ This is incorrect. Her call was handled accordingly by and through 311.”
On Monday, Dr. Horning said on “Pensacola Speaks” that she had not heard from city officials. Stewart told Inweekly yesterday that Horning failed to leave her name and number when she called – which she later disputed and provided the times of her call.
The PIO is now asserting that Dr. Horning isn’t telling the truth.
Inweekly has requested the 311 Center log for Sunday morning and the audio of Dr. Horning’s calls. We will have Dr. Horning on the “Pensacola Speaks” today and will ask her about her communications with city officials.
