City PIO tells PNJ Hayward not running for Congress

The PNJ asked City of Pensacola Public Information Officer Vernon Stewart if the mayor was considering a run for Congress next year. Stewart said the mayor was focused on being a “great mayor for the City of Pensacola.” Read PNJ.

On May 21, Hayward appeared on the Morning Show on News Talk 1370 WCOA for their “Town Hall with Mayor Ashton Hayward.” The mayor said that running for Congress was a “potential thought process.” It’s more a maybe than a definite “no.”
