Commissioner May To Attend Violent Crimes News Conference

Community and religious leaders will be joined by Escambia County Chairman Lumon May and Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward during a special news conference at 11 a.m. Monday, June 16. The news conference will take place at St. John Divine Missionary Baptist Church, located at 620 East Jordan Street.

Local religious and community leaders, along with Commissioner May and Mayor Hayward will be addressing the shooting that claimed the life of 20-year-old Shaquille Purifoy on Friday, June 13.

This case is just the latest violent crime that has impacted the lives of local families.

Members of the local media are encouraged to attend, as local community leaders, Commissioner May, Mayor Hayward and victim’s families all will me meeting to work together to try and find a solution to end the violence.
