Commissioner Robinson pushed BCC to help fund Downtown Lights

The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners approved on Nov. 3 Commissioner Grover Robinson’s recommendation to all allocate $45,000, from his discretionary money, for the Downtown Improvement Board to purchase Christmas lights in order to expand the First City Lights Festival.

As part of the FY 2016-2017 adopted Budget, the BCC allocated $50,000 in discretionary money for each Commissioner to use as they wish. Robinson recommended, and the BCC approved, to spend the remaining $5,000 of his discretionary money on the Pelican Drop.
