Council oversteps

The Pensacola City Council overstepped its authority by requiring the CMPA Board to have public input at all its meetings. The Community Maritime Park Associates is a private corporation, not a government agency. The CMPA Board has agreed to operate under Florida Sunshine Laws, but I don’t think that requires that they have public input at their board meetings – just to make them open to the public.

Looks like City Attorney Rusty Wells would have known this.
