The Pensacola City Council at its Committee of the Whole meeting today named its finalists for the Community Maritime Park Associates Board of Trustees:
Rhett Anderson – former city councilman (didn’t make the cut)
Juanita Scott – black community leader – campaign manager for Friends for a Waterfront Park.
Dr. Jimmy Jones – Doctor, Fiesta of Five Flags leader
John Merting – Maritime attorney

No one under 40 years old, even though that group was critical in passing the referendum. Black community may have four reps if Scott is appointed – which is great – they were big supporters of the park, too.
However, the group that will benefit from it the most – under 40s – has only one true representative Katie White.
