County collects all taxes due on Big Wheel

It took a year but Escambia County Tax Collector Janet Holley reports to Inweekly that the owner of the Big Ferris Wheel, known as “360 Pensacola Beach,” that once was a tourist attraction on Pensacola Beach has made its last and final payment on its past due taxes of $277,161.10.

The wheel had been relocated to Atlanta and renamed the “Skyview Atlanta Observation Wheel.”

Last July, Holley announced an agreement had been reached with the owner Expo 60 Venture who agreed to pay the full amount due to Escambia County. The Wheel opened on Pensacola Beach in July 2012 and had its last ride on the beach July 3, 2013.
