Florida has added 9,989 more cases – 14.1% positivity for July 7. Total: 223,783.
Escambia County has 129 new cases – 115 are Florida residents, one is associated with nursing homes, one with correctional, median age 35 and positivity rate 13.1% on 878 test results. FDOH reports 131 hospitalizations YTD –up 11 from July 6.
Hospitalizations and deaths lag behind the rise in positives.
Last Tuesday, June 30, Escambia County had 82 positives for 603 test results – 13.6%

In case you’re wondering, Escambia only had two 100+ case days in June – Â June 25: 161 and June 29: 195.
For July 7,  Chicago reported 184 positives out of 3,914 test results – 4.7% positivity rate.  About 6.8 cases per 100,000 people.
For July 7, King County – where Seattle is located –  reported 66 positives out of 1,890 test results – 3.5% positivity rate. About 2.93 cases per 100,000 people. King County had 8 more hospitalizations.
For July 7, Escambia reported 82 positives among locals out of 878 tests results – 13.1% positivity.  About 25.8 cases per 100,000 people. Escambia had 11 additional hospitalizations, per FDOH.
The District of Columbia had 73 new cases – 10.34 cases per 100,000 people. Positivity rate 3.78%. And only four additional hospitalizations.
In Santa Rosa County, all 44 new cases are Florida residents, one tied to nursing homes, one to correctional, median age 33 and positivity rate of 17.3% for 300 tests on July 7. The county had one more death – total 10.
Nine of the past 10 days, Santa Rosa’s positivity rate has been above 14%. The only exception is Tuesday, June 30 – 11.6%.
Daily percentages of ED visits mentioning cough and fever are at record highs. Daily percent of ED visits resulting in cough-associated admissions are at mid-April levels.
