Daily will endorse candidates

coffee There’s a new executive at the Pensacola News Journal – Dick Schnieder. He’s already changing things. The media giant will start endorsing candidates for the elections. The PNJ was the only major Florida daily newspaper not to do so for the Sept. 5th primary.

In his column in Sunday’s News Journal, Schneider writes “I believe that if a newspaper is going to have an editorial page, it needs to have a clear, consistent voice on the important issues of the day, and of the community.”

I couldn’t agree more.  Read his column: Endorsing candidates

Next PNJ challenge: Adding windows to their offices, as known as “The Bomb Shelter.”
