Today is the deadline to register to vote and be eligible to vote in the House District 2 Special Primary Election on May 14.
The Supervisor of Elections offices will be open in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
New registrations or party affiliation changes must be completed on or before the end of the business day on April 15, 2013 in order for them to be effective for the May 14 election. Florida law mandates that registration books close 29 days before an election. Address changes can be
made after the books close.
If you live in Escambia County and are unsure of your registration status, visit EscambiaVotes.com and click Am I Registered?. To find out if you live in Florida House District 2, visit Special Election page on EscambiaVotes.com.
For Santa Rosa voters: If you are unsure of your registration status or to find out if you live in Florida House District 2 (precincts 22, 25 and 32 only), please call SOE office (850) 983-1900 or e-mail them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Of course, the other big deadline is filing your federal tax return. I’ve already filed my extension.
