Diane Mack: very gracious act

Council member-elect Diane Mack was totally surprised by incumbent Jack Nobles dropping out of their runoff race for At Large District 8. She said a friend at WEAR TV 3 had called her and she first thought it was joke.

Mack did describe Nobles’ withdrawal as the “most gracious thing to do.” Her campaign manager Diana Doyle said that they had already planned a series of mail outs, events and walks of the city. She, too was stunned by the announcement.

“From the phone calls that I received,” Mack said, “I get a sense of a big sigh of relief. There is a new found sense of optimism in the City.”
