Do Mayokis have the blessing of Native American tribes?

The once-daily newspaper reported on protests criticizing the Mayokis, a fictitious white Krewe that has been a part of Fiesta Pensacola celebrations for over 60 years, in June 2018.

The Mayokis then responded by email: “The Creek Nation east of Mississippi endorsed the group in 1959, and members of the Creek nation are also members of the Mayoki tribe.”

However, when the newspaper tried to contact representatives of the Poarch Creek tribe and the Creek Nation for confirmation, its phone messages weren’t returned.

Can the Mayokis produce a written document from either the Poarch Creek tribe or the Creek Nation endorsing their social club?
