Donovan/Nobles petition push still 1,000 short?

The daily newspaper reports that Marty Donovan and Jack Nobles were still about 1,000 signatures short of meeting the minimum threshold of 3,850 petitions for their petition to rescind the council’s approval of a CMPA Design-Build contract. Last week, Donovan told the daily that his group was 1,500 signatures short.

Based on past petition drives, they will need a couple hundred extra signatures to be sure the 3,850 includes only registered Pensacola voters.

Update: Donovan claims he has until midnight.
