Escambia County Area Transit is partnering with Feeding the Gulf Coast to host a community resource event, market, and produce sale on Friday, May 15 at the Brownsville Community Center, located at 3200 W. De Soto St.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the community center parking lot. Event entry is free, with affordable food available for purchase through Millie the Mobile Market Program. This Feeding the Gulf Coast program aims to increase access and affordability of quality produce, helping ensure more individuals and families can access the healthy food they need to thrive. Driving Tuesday through Friday, the mobile market is updated each week and brings nutritious food directly to neighborhoods with limited grocery options.
This community resource fair is a kickoff to a partnership between Feeding the Gulf Coast and ECAT, which will bring Millie the Mobile Market to the ECAT Rosa L. Parks Transit Complex every other Friday to provide affordable, quality produce to the community.
Several additional vendors and community partners will also be participating in the event, including:
- Council on Aging of West Florida
- Florida Department of Health in Escambia County
- Health and Hope Clinic
- Hope Florida Foundation
- Keep Pensacola Beautiful
- OneBlood
- Pensacola Habitat for Humanity
- UF/IFAS – University of Florida
- United Way of West Florida
Feeding the Gulf Coast will do a raffle for participants who visit every vendor booth and get a full “passport” during the event.
