ECAT gets a reprieve

The Escambia County commission agreed to help fund the Escambia County Area Transit through Sept. – $102,000. The company managing ECAT will put up $63K and the City of Pensacola is expected to contribute remainder needed to cover the $215,000 shortfall.

The management company (Pensacola Transit Division of ATC VANCOM) reports that it outspent its current budget by increasing service on two routes, doing more marketing and underestimating the cost of workers compensation insurance.
