Escambia County has another COVID-19 death – third in four days, 36 year-to-date. Â The death was a male, 90, who had been first diagnosed on May 16.
The increases in new cases took a breather with only five reported for Friday, June 5.
For the May 31-June 5, Escambia County residents comprise 67% of the 61 new cases, and only four of the 41 local cases were associated with nursing homes – 9.7%.
Two weeks ago, about half of the county’s positive cases were non-Florida residents.
Summary: The percentage of new cases has increased among general public of Escambia County, outside of nursing homes.
