Escambia voter turnout at 25 percent, City 36 percent

As of 4 p.m., 52,613 people have voted in Escambia County — 25.17 percent turnout. Among Republicans, the turnout is 33 percent. In the city of Pensacola, 14,178 residents have voted —36.1 percent turnout. The hotly contested District 4 City Council race has 41 percent turnout.

In June, we estimated the turnouts would be similar to the 2010 primary–Mayor’s race 36.4 percent; District 4 41.2 percent. The turnout will be higher this year.
