ESCO makes arrest on 2009 homicide

Escambia County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Joseph Rhashawn McNeil and charged him in a 2009 homicide case. He is being held in the Escambia County Jail under no bond for the murder of Derry Dickerson.

Sheriff’s deputies said Derry Dickerson was found murdered in his Crescent Drive home on October 9, 2009. They said McNeil stabbed Dickerson several times and took some beer and money from him.

McNeil was arrested in Pollock, LA and transported back to Escambia County.

During the investigation and through forensic tests, McNeil was developed as a suspect and subsequently charged.
