Inweekly reviewed the school grades and total points earned for the non-charter elementary, middle and high schools in the state of Florida. We ranked them from the bottom to see how they stack up against other schools around the state.
As you can see, school grades alone don’t tell the true story about the school district’s performance, especially when compared with other districts.
Each school board member has schools in their districts that are among the lowest performing in the state.
District 1 Kevin Adams has a middle school and high school in the bottom 30 in Florida. District 2 Paul Fetsko has an elementary school in the bottom 70, out of 1616, and a high school in the bottom 30.
District 3 Dr. Laura Edler has one elementary school in the bottom 70, out of 1616, and a high school in the bottom 120. Patty Hightower, who has the longest tenure on the board, has a middle school in the bottom 10 of 486 schools. District 5 Bill Slayton has a high school in the bottom 30.
