Incumbent Sherri Myers has received the endorsement of the Pensacola Firefighters Union for the Pensacola City Council, District 2 seat.
Myers issued the following statement:
I am honored and deeply touch to have the endorsement of the Pensacola Professional Firefighters Local 707 for my re-election bid to the Pensacola City Council. I look forward to working with the City Council and the Mayor’s office to address the concerns of our men and women who put their lives on the line each day for the citizens of Pensacola. Our firefighters deserve good working conditions, better wages, facilities that meet their needs, training and advanced life saving certification. When government meets the needs of our firefighters, the need for safety of our citizens improves. Further, I look forward to using LOST funds to address the capital expenditure needs of our firefighters and urge voters to support the local option sales tax for this purpose.
