Today, Pensacola’s Foo Foo Festival officially announced its plans for its eighth annual events, taking place Nov. 3-14. Via a virtual and in-person kickoff, the Foo Foo Festival committee shared this year’s grant application process, funding structure and COVID-safe procedures that will be implemented into this year’s festival. In 2021, the Pensacola Foo Foo Festival successfully returned after a one-year hiatus due to COVID-19, and in 2022 will return bigger and better than ever.
In 2022, the Pensacola Foo Foo Festival will once again fund top-scoring grant applicants, with the number of grants to be awarded contingent upon the number of submissions. This year the Foo Foo Festival will provide up to $400,000 in grant funding, and grant applicants can apply for up to $100,000 in grant funding. All organizations, businesses and community partners are encouraged to submit their various events (occurring Nov. 3-14) for consideration to become a “Friend of Foo,” receiving visibility as part of the regional marketing campaign and throughout the 12-day event. This year’s events will once again be held with COVID-safe procedures in mind. As Foo Foo Fest organizers work to organize the plans and event layout for this November’s festivities, the team will take all precautions possible to ensure that the health of its organizers and attendees are kept top of mind, including the institution of COVID-safe protocols and enhancement of outdoor spaces to allow for social distancing. The Foo Foo Fest team will continue to monitor developments surrounding COVID-19 variants leading up to November’s events and will fully cooperate with any instructions heeded for Escambia County by local and state officials and the CDC.
