Former City official is new Destin City manager

By a unanimous vote last night, the Destin City Council selected Maryann Ustick – former City of Pensacola assistant city manager and current acting city manager in North Las Vegas – to be that city’s new city manager.

Once her contract is negotiated and approved, Ustick will replace Greg Kisela, who left the city in June to become the Walton County Administrator.

From 1999 to 2003, Ustick was a key member of Pensacola City Manager Tom Bonfield’s posse as his Assistant City Manager of Development –a job very similar to Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward’s proposed Chief of Economic Opportunities and Sustainability.

Ustick, whose assistant city manager position was not subject to approval by the Pensacola City Council, oversaw the departments of Economic Development, Public Works, Parks & Recreation, Planning & Zoning, and Utilities.
