Gaetz fight to not surrender on Obamacare gains momentum

On Monday, Congressman Matt Gaetz appeared to be one of the few voice pushing for Republicans not to give up on their campaign promise to repeal and replace Obamacare. By the end of Tuesday, others were joining in the fight.

The New York Times reports that Speaker Paul Ryan yesterday vowed to renew efforts to repeal the law. House Majority Ahip, Steve Scalise of Louisiana, called the Democrats’ celebration of the end of repeal effort “premature.”

Senate Republicans, on the other hand, wish the political fight would go away. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he would rather watch Obamacare fail apart and then pick up the pieces later.
