Gaetz hosts 2019 Congressional App Challenge

On Saturday, Nov.6, Congressman Matt Gaetz (FL-01) will host the 2019 Congressional App Challenge Competition and STEM/Cyber Security Expo from 1-4 p.m. on the University of West Florida Pensacola Campus, Conference Center Bldg. 22, 11000 University Pkwy.

The Congressional App Challenge is a competition where Members of Congress encourage students in their respective districts to create programs and applications using any coding language. Students have the option of competing in teams or as individuals, and the winners from each district present their finished work product in Washington, D.C., the following year at an annual showcase. The challenge exists to encourage students interested in coding to pursue careers in cybersecurity, computer science, and other closely related fields.
