Congressman Matt Gaetz Statement on Shooting at GOP Baseball Practice Wednesday
“Last evening at 10 p.m. Congressman Scalise and I were working to finalize details on extending the Federal red snapper season. I was shocked and saddened to learn he and members of staff and security detail were victims of a shooting. I am grateful for the heroic service of the Capitol Police and Alexandria Police Department. I plan to keep my scheduled Open Gaetz Day in Fort Walton Beach on Saturday, and we are doing everything in our power to be sure security is maintained at all events.â€
