Gannett passes on print edition today. You will not believe the reason

Across the state of Florida, Gannett chose not to deliver a print edition for all of its daily newspapers this Memorial Day. Those without print editions include the Pensacola News Journal, Northwest Florida Daily News, Panama City News Herald, St. Augustine Record, Tallahassee Democrat, The Ledger (Lakeland), Daytona Beach News-Journal, Sarasota Herald-Tribune, The Florida Times-Union (Jacksonville) and Palm Beach Post.

The reason given: “In honor of this holiday, this publication is being provided in e-Edition format only.”

Really? “In honor of this holiday?” How does going digital-only honor our fallen service members?

Come on, Gannett. Your subscribers aren’t that stupid.
