Gov. DeSantis in town today

During Rick Scott’s tenure as governor, we got accustomed to him making regular visits to Pensacola–ST Aerospace ground-breaking, floods, ice storms, new Pensacola Bay Bridge, fish hatchery, etc.  Community leaders have wondered why his successor, Ron DeSantis, has shied away from our part of the state.

Today, Gov. DeSantis has two events in Pensacola:

  • 10 a.m.  Pensacola International Airport : “Governor Ron DeSantis will make a major announcement…” He will be accompanied by Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Executive Director Ken Lawson and Enterprise Florida Inc. President and CEO Jamal Sowell.
  • 11 a.m. University of West Florida – “Governor Ron DeSantis will make a major announcement…” He will be accompanied by Florida Department of Veteran Affairs Executive Director Danny Burgess.

My guess is the airport visit will concern economic development–most likely concerning ST Aerospace based on the location of the presser.  The UWF visit has to be about education and veterans.

Stay tuned.  Photos and press releases will be coming soon.
