Gulf Coast Kid’s House School Supply Drive runs through July 31

Gulf Coast Kid’s House has launched its annual school supply drive, accepting donations through July 31 (and beyond) to ensure every child it serves has the tools needed to start school prepared and confident.

Supporting Our Most Vulnerable Children

Gulf Coast Kid’s House serves children and families who have experienced abuse and trauma in Escambia County. For many of these families, purchasing school supplies can be a significant financial burden, besides all the other challenges they face. That’s where our community can step in to help.

The organization is collecting new and very gently used school supplies, including:

  • Notebooks and pencils
  • Backpacks
  • Art supplies
  • And other essential school items

These donations directly benefit Gulf Coast Kid’s House families who might otherwise go without the basic supplies their children need for academic success. Perfect timing makes this drive even more impactful. Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday runs from July 29 to August 11, providing families and donors with an opportunity to purchase essential supplies tax-free. This is an ideal opportunity for community members to maximize their contribution while saving money.

How to Help

Drop-off Location: Gulf Coast Kid’s House 3401 N 12th Avenue

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Gulf Coast Kid’s House is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies on community support for 75% of its funding. In 2020 alone, they provided services to over 3,000 abused and neglected children. Their trained professionals work under one roof to investigate, treat, and prosecute cases of child sexual and physical abuse and severe neglect while also providing crucial education in child abuse prevention.

Every Donation Matters

Whether you’re a parent picking up supplies for your own children or a community member looking to give back, your donation can help ensure that a child who has already faced significant challenges doesn’t have to worry about having the basic tools they need for learning.

Starting the school year with confidence can make all the difference for these resilient children. Your support helps create that foundation for success.
