Gulf Coast Lionfish Coalition plans first round up for May 1-4

The Gulf Coast Lionfish Coalition is an organization dedicated to raising funds for the sake of sponsoring events that directly mitigate the Lionfish invasion in the Gulf of Mexico. See its Facebook page.

The group is looking for sponsors:
“Founded in 2014, we have begun a journey that we hope one day will no longer necessary, but at present is necessary for the sake of protection and conservation of Gulf fisheries, as well as the recreational enjoyment of thee precious natural resources.We are raising money for the GCLC to continue to sponsor fishing derbies and events that help to raise the awareness of this invasive species.”
