Press release: The Junior League of Pensacola and Sacred Heart Hospital are once again teaming up to offer children and families a healthy and safe option for celebrating Halloween. The third annual Healthy Halloween Party will be held Thursday, October 29 at Sacred Heart’s Greenhut Auditorium from 6 to 8 pm and will feature healthy trick or treating, games, crafts, face painting and other spooky fun. This fun evening is free and open to the public. Kids of all ages are welcome to attend, but please, no frightening costumes!

Junior League of Pensacola’s community focus is Children’s Health and Wellness. Through our members’ volunteer efforts and programs like Girls on the Run and Kids in the Kitchen, the Junior League aims to help combat the troubling issue of childhood obesity and its impact on the Pensacola Bay Area.

In Girls on the Run, running is used to inspire and motivate girls, encourage lifelong health and fitness, and build confidence through accomplishment. Important social, psychological, and physical skills and abilities are developed and reinforced throughout the program to raise healthy girls. Kids in the Kitchen aims to encourage families to get into the kitchen together and have fun. The program’s goal is to combat childhood obesity by getting kids to try, make and love healthy food.

The Junior League of Pensacola is a women’s volunteer group dedicated to service projects in the Pensacola Bay Area. Since 1956, Junior League of Pensacola members have contributed volunteer support and resources to a variety of community programs and causes.
