Iowa Caucus: You have to be kidding

There were fewer votes cast (16,892) in the Iowa GOP caucus than the 2010 Pensacola Mayoral election.

3. Governor Tim Pawlenty (2,293, 13.57%)
4. Senator Rick Santorum (1,,657, 9.81%)
5. Herman Cain (1456, 8.62%)
6. Governor Rick Perry (718, 3.62%) write-in
7. Governor Mitt Romney (567, 3.36%)
8. Speaker Newt Gingrich (385, 2.28%)
9. Governor Jon Huntsman (69, 0.41%)
10. Congressman Thad McCotter (35, 0.21%)

Unknown newcomer Danny Lewis got 4,362 votes in 2010 against Grover Robinson for the Escambia County District 4 race. Lewis would have placed third in Iowa. David Karasek, another political newcomer who got 5,630 votes in the GOP primary for House District 2, would have won the caucus. George Touart who only got 595 votes against Commissioner Gene Valentino in 2010 GOP primary woul have place eighth ahead of Gingrich, Huntsman and McCotter.
