Two of Every Three New Escambia Voters Aren’t Registering Republican
When the Escambia County Supervisor of Elections Robert Bender closed out the September 2026 voter registrations, he reported that 67.1% of the 1,152 new voters registered as something other than Republican.

Most of the new voters live outside the city limits of Pensacola (193 new voters) and Century (6):

County District Numbers
District 1, represented by Commissioner Steve Stroberger gained the most new voters—339. Of those, 38.9% registered as Republicans.
Commissioner Lumon May’s District 3 has the second most new registrations—222, of which only 26.6% registered as Republicans.
The two districts that have contested elections in November had the fewest voter registrations. District 4 (Commissioner Ashlee Hofberger) registered 196 new voters, only 24% as Republicans. District 2 (Commissioner Mike Kolher) registered 191 new voters, 34% as Republicans.
