Leadership Pensacola Seeks Nonprofit Proposals for Class of 2027 Project

Local nonprofits have until Aug. 7 to pitch the class that will spend a year building leaders and one lucky organization a project.

The Leadership Pensacola (LeaP) Class of 2027 is accepting proposals from local nonprofit organizations for its class project, a signature component of the 10-month leadership development program run by the Greater Pensacola Chamber Foundation.

  • Background: LeaP is designed to cultivate community-minded leaders by helping participants understand the issues facing the Pensacola area and build the skills needed to address them. Each class draws members from a broad cross-section of the community’s political, professional, educational, social, and cultural backgrounds.

The class project serves as a hands-on capstone to the curriculum. To ensure the greatest possible community impact, the class reviews ideas and needs submitted by area nonprofits before selecting a project to implement.

How to Apply

Organizations interested in proposing a project must submit an application to the Chamber by Friday, Aug. 7  at 5 p.m. Applications are available at pensacolachamber.com/community-give-back-projects. Applicants are also encouraged to review the Community Give-Back Project Purpose and Guidelines document before applying to determine how LeaP can best serve their organization.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Hold active 501(c)(3) nonprofit status
  • Be a member of the Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce
  • Maintain Chamber membership in good standing for the entire duration of the project

Organizations selected as finalists will be notified and invited to present their proposed projects directly to the LeaP Class of 2027. Class members will then vote to choose which project the class will carry out.

Questions about the application process can be directed to Trevor Rodabaugh at leap@pensacolachamber.com.
