March Madness: UNC Lady Tar Heels’ National Championship

Stephanie Lawrence Yelton talks about playing in the NCAA women’s basketball tournament. She walks through the play that won the 1994 title with only 0.7 seconds left on the clock. Yelton is on pace to be the University of West Florida’s winningest women’s basketball coach.

She was “Miss Georgia Basketball” in 1991 after leading Morrow High School to three 4A state championships. Yelton graduated from UNC as the school’s career leader in every three-point shooting statistical category. She was also an ACC All-Tournament Team selection in 1995.
