Milton High will have First Amendment graduation, too

Parents and preachers in Milton are organizing a separate graduation for Milton High School. The so-called “First Amendment Graduation” is being announced meetings on campus. Pace High School, of course, also has one planned.

Still no word whether the students and their parents will boycott the official graduation. However, if students and parents want to have a ceremony – that’s isn’t mandatory or endorsed by the school system – in a church, that’s great.

In Gulf Breeze, we call them Baccalaurete services and they have been optional for students for years, hosted by the local ministers association and rotated among all the area churches. The services and Gulf Breeze High School were not named in the ACLU suit.
