Mobile DA withdraws from Nodine case

Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson Jr. has recused himself from the Nodine marijuana case and requested Escambia County (Ala.) District Attorney Stephen Billy handle it and decide whether to pursue drug charges against Mobile County Commissioner Stephen Nodine.

Marijuana was found in Nodine’s county-issued truck after he brought the vehicle into the garage Dec. 23 for routine maintenance. The investigation has entered its second month.
