Money did not win Escambia County races

Escambia County Commission candidate Jesse Casey spent $49.25* for each of the 2,442 votes cast for him. Most of it was his own money. Charles Thornton (ECUA D3), Ron McNesby (Sheriff) and Karen Sindel (BCC D1) spent more than $16 for each of their votes.

The most efficient campaigns won their races. Kevin Adams only spent $1.63 for each of his 7,235 votes–Elvin McCorvey $1.97, Scott Lunsford $2.16 and Steven Barry $2.28.

*Note: $40,000 of Jesse Casey’s expenditures was to partially repay his loan to the campaign. If deducted, that reduces his per-vote cost to $32.87.
