More: Accreditation, PIO leaving

Mayor Grover Robinson announced two tidbits of information at last night’s District 7 town hall.

He is traveling to St. Augustine on Wednesday for a hearing on the Pensacola Police Department’s accreditation. PPD lost its accreditation in 2017 under Chief David Alexander for the department’s “dismissive and cavalier manner” in how it dealt with the assessment team.

The mayor also announced that Public Information Officer Vernon Stewart is leaving in March for a position with the VA in Kansas City.
