Construction on the New Palafox Project continues to move forward, with paver installation now 75% complete and the project on schedule for its incentivized completion date of May 24 for the Palafox portion.
Strategic Initiatives Project Officer Adrianne Walker issued an update this week with several items for businesses, pedestrians and community members to keep in mind.
Pedestrian and Traffic Impacts
The west sidewalk along Plaza Ferdinand is closed for approximately six weeks. Pedestrians are being routed through the park or across the street.
- Important Change: The Romana and Intendencia Street intersections remain under construction, though mid-block crossings are now open for use.
Access to the construction area is restricted to authorized personnel only.
Palafox Pulse Update
The project team is refreshing its approach for the remainder of the project. Palafox Pulse will continue on its current schedule, but Hatchmark will shift to direct visits with businesses rather than the previous meeting format at Vinyl. Walker is also working to schedule a second meeting focused on outdoor seating arrangements and is available to speak directly with anyone who has questions or concerns. Marcie continues to handle questions and elevate issues as needed.
