Nodine catches heat

Steve Nodine, the Mobile County commissioner who was paraded before the Escambia County Commission as an expert of economic development, is being criticized by the Mobile Press Register for jeopardizing economic development efforts in their area.

According to the paper, Nodine is trying to renege on the county’s commitment to ThyssenKrupp AG. “Commissioner Nodine insists that the county does not owe $13.5 million of the $83.5 million it committed to bring the massive steel plant to Mobile County. Everyone else (county, city and state officials) agrees that the county is on the hook.”
