Nuclear option not feasible for BP Deepwater Horizon


Over the weekend, I interviewed Dr. Ted Bourgoyne, LSU Professor Emeritus, petroleum engineering about Deepwater Horizon well. He said that he hadn’t seen the so-called nuclear option ever used underwater. If BP tried to blow up and collapse the well, he fears it could make matters worse by fracturing the sea bottom and thus create more leaks.
