Old Stinky’s shutdown has begun

Emerald Coast Utilities Authority began today shutting down the Main Street Wastewater Treatment Plant. They will be conducting an official “Shut-Down” ceremony on Thursday, April 28 @ 11 a.m.

According to projected plans, the anticipated timeframe for dismantling the facility is approximately 9 to 12 months, once the Authority’s Board awards the winning contractor bid in the spring of 2011.
